"Cele Store, a general store that sits amid gorgeous farmland 21 miles northeast of Austin in Manor, Texas, serves barbecue for Friday lunch and dinner, and Saturday lunch. It may be brisket, sausage, or baby back pork ribs, but it's sure to be good."

For more information about barbecue road trips around Austin, Texas, see “Tastemakers: BBQ Road Trips” in the May/June 2012 issue of Taste of the South magazine.

The Cele Store was first established as the Richland Saloon in 1891. Marilyn Weiss and the late Marvin Weiss purchased the store in 1951 and ran it continuously for 56 years. The Cele Store is located at the corner of Cele and Cameron roads in northeast Travis County about 7 miles East of Pflugerville.

The Cele store was featured in several movies, including Secondhand Lions, A Perfect World and Texas Chainsaw Massacre I, II and III.  See our Film and Photo credits page and the Movie Clips page for more details about the movies, photo shoots and music videos filmed at this unique historic Texas landmark.
